true freedom

Romans 6:15-18
from "The Message"

15So, since we're out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want? Since we're free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind? 16Hardly. You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it's your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you've let sin tell you what to do. 17But thank God you've started listening to a new master, 18one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!

Happy 4th of July Everyone

As I watched those fireworks Sunday night, I thought about how awesome they were. Patriotism always moves me--I just don't know how to express the feelings I have for those who have gone before us to gain and protect the freedoms we have today. But as I watched those fireworks and thought of how amazing they seemed to be, I thought of how more amazing it will be when Jesus returns in the sky. No firework can compare to even a fraction of that moment. I can't wait for the day!!!

Where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is freedom indeed!!

Beautiful picture, babe!
